FIB's chief executive, Dani Saveker, was a guest of Yorkshire Clydesdale Bank for a recent 'Ready Steady Cook' team event which was hosted by family run Becketts Farm.
Two groups of 6 businessmen and women were assigned the famous 'red tomatoes' and 'green peppers' team names and with apron's donned the clock started ticking. A professional chef worked with each team, with TV chef Brian Turner being one of them and Becketts very own in house chef helping the other team.
A very enjoyable and action packed two hours followed with the teams being challenged to create a starter, main course and dessert which would then be sampled and judged by Beckett Farm's managing director and Yorkshire Clydesdale Bank to decide the winning team. Team work, communication and culinary skills were tested with both teams presenting surprisingly accomplished dishes with all of them receiving very positive feedback from the judges. Ultimately the green peppers team won by two judges out of three awarding them first place. Dani was unfortunately on the losing team and received a wooden spoon despite her home baked shortbread which was part of a trio of desserts. Dani commented: "What a fabulous event! Despite being on the losing team we had a fantastic afternoon that was fun, a challenge and actually very competitive while being something a bit different. Becketts Farm has absolutely wonderful facilities and they offer a range of corporate events which we can't recommend enough. Every business should get Ready Steady Cooking!"
